Summary

We are a tour operator specialising in the creation & organisation of holidays in Europe, mainly in France and the United Kingdom, with our headquarters in England and France. For 15 years we have developed a range of varied and active holiday experiences sold directly to our English (90%) and French-speaking clients. Our business is growing rapidly and we are currently developing our partnerships with travel platforms/agencies to offer tailor-made experiences to an international clientele; mostly English-speaking. A large part of your role will be to assist in the development of these markets, especially the platform Kimkim for holidays based in the UK, with the support of our software and our sales manager. We are a small team (currently 15 people) and are looking for a dynamic and rigorous person to join our team in France.

Responsibilities

Tourism Sales Agent & Travel Advisor :
  • Responding to enquiries from potential new clients (mainly from North America) by email and telephone
  • Creating customer-specific proposals for holidays in the UK and Ireland
  • Formulate offers in line with the customer's budget while respecting our pricing policy
  • Follow up on requests and answer questions from customers
  • Re-launch enquiries which have gone cold
  • Helping to develop new markets
  • Purchase of services (accommodation, transfers, tickets, etc.)
  • Issuing invoices and payments
  • Drafting of technical and descriptive sheets
  • Production/adaptation of roadbooks and travel files specific to each client
  • Negotiation of TO rates with all service providers
  • Calculation of prices for services and trips
  • Contact with the client to ensure the smooth running of their trip (sending reminders to agents/guides, assistance in case of problems during the trip)
  • Helping to develop new holidays and tourist products

Qualifications

We are looking for someone who has previous experience in a tour operator or similar environment and who is comfortable with all forms of communication in English. We are a small company, so you need to be autonomous quickly after training on our software. Good organisational skills, availability and responsiveness are key.

  • Bachelor's to master’s level education preferably in the field of tourism, sales or history geography but other backgrounds are certainly welcomed
  • Know how to listen to the customer and propose holidays adapted to their expectations, and budget
  • Have an appetite for sales
  • Excellent command of English (written and spoken) is required. Native British is preferred
  • Rigorous, methodical and autonomous
  • Proficiency in office software such as Word, CRM, Excel, etc.
  • Excellent organisational and planning skills and the ability to manage several tasks simultaneously
  • Attention to detail and quality of service
  • Excellent writing and communication skills
  • Geographical knowledge of our destinations in the UK and Ireland is essential
  • Passion for travel, interest in sustainable tourism, knowledge of luxury travel is preferred
  • Experience of working in a tour operator or DMC or similar would be desirable

Hybrid remote or in 69400 Villefranche-sur-Saône. We would highly highly prefer candidates who were locally based or ready to spend some weeks of training here in the office.

Our background in active hiking experiences is now matched with high-end trips that involve golf, whisky, history, wildlife, stately homes and great restaurants.

Our business is growing rapidly and we are currently developing our partnerships with travel platforms/agencies to offer tailor-made experiences to an international clientele; mostly North American. A large part of your role will be to assist in the development of these markets, especially the platform Kimkim for holidays based in the UK, with the support of our software and our sales manager.

We are a small but growing team (currently 16 people) and are looking for a dynamic and rigorous person to join our team in France.
